McGriff Transportation, Inc., a subsidiary of McGriff Industries, Inc., is a transportation service company based in Cullman, AL.  We offer long haul, regional, local cartage, dedicated fleet and brokerage services.  McGriff has been in business in North Alabama since 1948, with the Transportation Company beginning as a private fleet, then becoming a contract carrier approximately 20 years ago.  Our primary focus is dry-van transportation throughout the eastern United States.  The irregular route fleet operates heavily in the Southeast, Midwest and Northeast.  This includes our long haul operations along with regional operations in Cullman, AL, Jacksonville, FL, and Atlanta, GA.  Our tractor fleet is 300+ units strong with a trailer fleet approaching 650 units, all of which are (3) years old or newer.

In addition to the irregular route fleets, McGriff Transportation also offers and provides Dedicated Fleet services within the geographic areas covered.  This presently includes an array of services including, but not limited to, "power only" fleets, full equipment fleets, equipment leasing, trailer spotting and warehousing services.  McGriff is large enough to be beneficial to a facility requiring these services, yet flexible enough to customize a package to meet the specific needs of that particular facility.  These Dedicated Fleet operations include local, regional and long-haul transportation services.  McGriff prefers an approach of combining the efforts of a dedicated operation with the irregular route fleet to offer a client a "Dedicated Service" package at the most efficient costs.

Scope of Operation: McGriff Transportation, Inc. serves the continental   United States, however, most service lanes are between points in the Southeast, the   Midwest, and the Northeast.

Primary handling dry freight shipments between points within the eastern portion of the United States.  Also handling shipments between the Southeast and West Coast regions.

Regional Service: 
Primary handling dry freight shipments within the Southeast region. Also handle shipments between the Northeast and Midwest regions. 

Intermodal Cartage:
Presently serving ramps at Huntsville, Alabama and Jacksonville, Florida.

McGriff Transportation provides equipment and manpower for exclusive use by shippers upon request. This relieves shippers from the enormous liability risks encountered when operating a private fleet.

McGriff's brokerage division offers its services to shippers looking for a special combination of rates and service. We offer access to literally hundreds of 'contract' trucks per day to our shipper-customers
